Loy Krathong from your doorsteps

The annual festival of Loy Krathong is a time where believers observe the floatation of the krathong down the river/ stream or water body, deemed as a gesture to discard one’s sins & misdemeanor in the past year, as well as hope for a fresh start there on forth.

This year, the festive moods dampened greatly by the crippling deluge, where many find themselves marooned on their own roofs, or encamped in some refugee enclosure.

Meanwhile, the capital city is at the brink of suffering the flood waters incoming. As of recent news, flood water has breached the defenses in several districts & precincts within vicinity of the city center. The call for evacuation has been ongoing for some weeks, and it is believed that some predicted to be affected have nowhere else to turn to, especially if the homes upcountry have also been ravaged by the floods.

Some have actually fled their homes, moved into high rise rented residential, while others chose touristy venues, since tourists have eluded the kingdom in lieu of the calamity. A small number have taken the opportunity for travels to neighboring countries temporarily, hoping that the floods will ease off when they return.

It should not come across a surprise if lesser believers are in the mood for Loy Krathong this year. The most prominent features of floats seen should be in the likes of; humanitarian aid rafts, rescue rafts, debris & refuse.

One thing’s for certain, the incoming water makes for convenience for children to float their krathong from their doorsteps

i bring architecture/ developments to life when night falls, i see the world in a different light. Dedicated a chunk of my adult life towards my profession & passion, for which i'm grateful & proud to have accomplished. My past time, i hang our with my pals over food & drinks, break sweat over football, and pampering myself during 'me' time. Life's too short to hold back our expressions, speaking our thoughts add colors to the boring & mundane lives of the walking dead.
